Why Live in the Uk?

Take a chance! All life is a chance. The one who goes furthest is generally the one who is willing to do and dare”- Dale Carnegie

Here’s a fact: the constant migration and mass exodus of African Nurses to developed countries is on a continuum. From a personal, realistic perspective, this mass exodus isn’t stopping anytime soon. Here’s why – it’s ‘liberation’ per say, for numerous African Nurses from the deeply entrenched, dehumanizing and shallow treatment meted to these special professionals.

Plus the improved standard of living, and of course, the fat income package…definitely a golden opportunity that one wouldn’t want to miss.

Take for example, the mouth-watering relocation package for Nurses offered by the UK: an all expense- paid job, accommodation provided even for families, exorbitant visa fees catered to, working in a global standard healthcare system, living the dream…

What a great and rare privilege.

Liberation and freedom for a better life.

So, why wouldn’t anyone want to jump at the thought of relocating to the UK, for instance, with all of its juicy offers?

To add, everyone you know is going or has gone- friends, classmates, family; and with beautiful tales of life in the United Kingdom.

But have you ever asked yourself ‘Why am I chosing the Uk as the country to relocate to?’

Why live and work in the Uk?

What do you know about the United Kingdom?

How much information have you gathered about everything on the United Kingdom and it’s healthcare system? What do you need to know about the United Kingdom?

Have you counted the costs of relocating to the Uk?

Have you asked all the right questions about living and working in the Uk to help you make an informed choice?

How really prepared are you physically, psychologically, financially, to make this life-transforming decision of relocating and leaving your home country ?

Phew! I’m beginning to sound like I want to scare you with my questions, but trust me when I say, they are extremely important questions you’d need to honestly answer, before deciding to relocate to the Uk.

So, Why live in the Uk?

About

Hi there!

Welcome to the Omo Naija Nurse’s Diary

My name’s Chidimma. I am a Nurse, living and working in the UK. And of course, I’m a Nigerian

I was born and brought up in Lagos State, Nigeria, and have worked as a Registered Nurse for 6 years.

So, why did I start this blog?

Prior to relocating from Nigeria to the UK, I did a couple of online researches to see what it entailed to make this big, daring move.

I asked a lot of questions. And more questions, but it was either the people I asked were not generous enough with their answers, or I was asking the wrong people 🤔, or there were few people sharing their experiences online, because I came up with such scanty information, it was disheartening.

I needed answers.

And so, because I do love to be armed with sufficient information before making any decision, I decided to work with the scanty information I got, and…

Help as many others who might be faced with these dilemmas.

So, come along! As an ‘Omo Naija’, let me feed you with the thrills and wheels of living and working in the Uk.

Welcome aboard!
